CENTRAL PARK NORTH BLDG SELLS FOR $33,000,000!

 

According to the The Real Deal, 225 Central Park North was sold to a new owner for $33M. This is a picture of the six story building from Google Street View.

SLEDDING IN MORNINGSIDE PARK 

 

WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE?

383 WEST 125th STREET/ FORMER M&G

For many years this was the address of M&G Diner. After the diner closed, this spot at the corner of Morningside Ave and 125th st, was completely gutted. Chef Marcus Samuelsson who owns Red Rooster, purchased the Southern Fried Chicken sign which, in fact existed even before M&G. A new glass facade was installed and the space was put on the commercial market. A prime location but, no takers. The listing passed from broker to broker etc, and sat vacant for about three years.

Recently, there were signs of new life. First the sidewalk outside was repaired and then rosin paper went up covering the windows. Work lights could be seen through the glass and construction workers moved in and out.

Then, it all stopped...

On Jan 6th, NYC Dept. of Buildings issued a Stop Work Order. Apparently for "Work Without A Permit".
