The Showtime series Nurse Jackie shot scenes for it's last season in Morningside Park this morning. Producer Tom Straw and series star Edie Falco were on set.

KEENLY AWAITING THE GRAND OPENING OF BTH RESTAURANT

BTH (By the Hudson) RESTAURANT & LOUNGE

Once upon a time, there sat a diner under the highway, that served food to people commuting on the trolley across 125th St and the ferry to New Jersey.

The ferry and the trolley are both long gone and the original diner was demolished in the 1970's but the space will once again house a food establishment. 

Hopefully soon, BTH will open it's doors for all to see. It's owners recently raised a sign above the Henry Hudson Pkwy (past the northbound 125th exit), held a open call for servers and has been posting pictures on Instagram http://pinsta.me/bthnyc.

There aren't that many restaurants in Manhattan that have river views so this one in HARLEM will be a real gem.

MORNINGSIDE AVE TRAFFIC MEDIANS

Soon after being approved by two community boards, work began on four traffic islands intended to slow the motor vehicles that speed along this avenue.

The rather large dividers are placed at 117th, 118th, 120th and 123rd streets. Red lights were already present at the last two placements.

Have the medians slowed the cars? That's hard to say scientifically without a radar gun. But observers say only slightly. There is definitely more bottle necking at 120th and 123rd streets. Eyewitnesses, scuff marks and bits of bumper debris indicate that some driver are oblivious to the presence of the islands.

Crews returned on August 25th to install reflective markers to warn/caution drivers. The final stage is extending the curb at Hancock Place.

THE RISE OF 92

92 MORNINGSIDE AVE PENTHOUSE

A penthouse is being added to 92 Morningside Ave. This building was gutted by a fire over 10 years ago and remained vacant (unless you count the squatters and racoons) until last year.

It's unknown how much longer this project will take to complete since it's clearly behind schedule.
